The Variations in the Lipids of the Uterine Mucosa in the Pig.*

چکیده
The structural changes in the uterine mucosa associated with the phenomena of estrus, menstruation, implantation of the embryo, pregnancy, and the puerperium have, for a long time, been of marked interest to the histologist. The staining reactions of the endometrium with Nile blue, Sudan III, Scharlach R, and osmic acid have indicated the possibility of a connection between the lipid content and the state of activity of the tissue. Most of the information we have on the subject is, however, based upon these staining reactions only, largely because of the technical difficulties involved in the study of such tissue by the chemical methods which have been available. The work of many investigators, beginning with Ancel and Bouin (1) has indicated that the pregestational prolification of the glandular tissue of the endometrium may be dependent upon the action of the hormone of the corpus luteum. Recently Corner and Allen (2) have prepared an active extract of corpus luteum and demonstrated a typical glandular proliferation of the endometrium following its injection into rabbits. This suggests that the cyclic changes in the chemical composition of the endometrium may be expected to run parallel to the various stages of growth and degeneration of the corpus luteum. It has seemed to us, therefore, that parallel chemical studies of the lipids of the

Calcium and magnesium concentrations in uterine fluid and blood serum during the estrous cycle in the bovine
To investigate uterine and serum Ca++ and Mg++ variations during the estrous cycle in the bovine, 66 genital tracts and blood samples were collected from Urmia abattoir, Urmia, Iran. The phase of the estrous cycle was determined by examination of the structures present on ovaries and uterine tonicity. Of the collected samples, 17 were pro-estrus, 12 estrus, 14 metestrus and 23 diestrus. The ute...

متن کاملSeasonal variations of total lipids, fatty acid composition, of Nizimuddinia zanardini from the seashore of Chabahar
The Iran’s coastal marine algae have great potential in the fields of medicine, food and cosmetics which unfortunately, fewer have been studied. In the present study, Total lipid and fatty acid profile of brown algae, N. zanardini were measured in both cold and warm season. The total lipid content with 41.1±0.8 mg/g dry weight was high in February. In the present study, Fatty acid composition o...
متن کاملEvaluation of the morphological features of the uterine tubes during postnatal development in West African Dwarf goats (Capra hircus)
The objective of this study was to highlight the postnatal development of the uterine tubes of the West African Dwarf goat from birth to 28 weeks of age by gross examination and light microscopy. There was a caudal migration of the paired uterine tubes from behind the paired kidneys at birth to the pelvic inlet at week 8 of age. Each uterine tube exhibited three segments namely; infundibulum, a...
